Maven Clinic, Cleveland Clinic Partner to Enhance Virtual Fertility Care

June 23, 2022 - Maven Clinic has partnered with Cleveland Clinic to integrate various support and in-person care services into its virtual offerings.

Maven Clinic is a virtual clinic that offers fertility, pregnancy, and parenting services. Along with individual members, it partners with employers, health plans, and consultants. Its platform provides video and chat features, access to care advocates, digital classes, and personalized content.

Through the new agreement, Maven Clinic will be able to offer its members in-person and support services provided by the Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center, including appointment scheduling, improved care coordination, and financial counseling. Further, the partnership will enable Maven members to transition between virtual and in-person care.

Cleveland Clinic is already a popular fertility clinic destination for Maven members in Ohio, according to the news release.

In addition, the current demand for fertility benefits is high. Recent research from Maven and Great Place to Work noted that 75 percent of companies named Best Workplaces for Parents offer fertility services.

Per the partnership, Cleveland Clinic joins Maven's fertility clinic referral network, which is part of the company's Fertility and Family Building program. The program aims to assist patients in locating a clinic and provides 24/7 access to Maven’s Care Advocates, personalized care plans, and expense reimbursement tools.

"We are thrilled that members in the Midwest will have access to one of the world's great medical institutions for fertility and maternity care, along with the compassionate support through our digital platform that they know and trust," said Kate Ryder, founder, and CEO of Maven Clinic, in a press release.

The news comes a little over a month after Maven Clinic entered into a partnership with Blue Shield of California, giving eligible members a virtual supplement to in-person care through on-demand telehealth appointments and support from care advocates.

Recently, projects focused on expanding access to fertility care services have grown, mainly due to increased demand.

In March, Posterity Health, a provider of technology-enabled male fertility services, created Project AIM, which sought to improve access to these services. The project offered an at-home semen collection kit or an in-person appointment at a local RMA of New York andrology lab. The program was created to help combat hurdles many couples face when trying to conceive.

Medicaid also has plans to increase fertility benefits due to growing demand. According to a report published last month, state Medicaid programs can increase the scope of their benefits. When comparing data between June and October 2021, researchers determined that more than half of states intend to lengthen postpartum coverage.
